Photos of Classic Postage Meter Machines
This page offers pictures of some of the 'Classic' Postage
Meter Machines to provide additional background and information to postage
meter stamp collectors. 'Classic' is defined (by me) to be the first few models from
the manufacturers. These images
are a combination of actual pictures and manufacturer's brochures. The
information and pictures on this page clearly represent a 'work in progress' and it is
expected that suitable images of some 'Classic' postage meter machines will not
become available. To that end, if you have pictures of any of the machines listed
at the bottom, please consider sending them to me in .jpg format. The images can
be scans from brochures or articles.
Special Thanks to the following for their contributions to
this web page:

Click the link below and watch a vintage Pitney Bowes Model A mailing machine,
with an 'M' postage meter, in operation. This short, but informative, video clip will give you some insight as to how these early
postage meter machines operated.

This is a photo of the Automatic Stamping Machine Co. (Moss) factory in Christchurch, dated
1920. Although the photo has some Model B machines in it (on the floor
at the center of the picture), they were replaced by the Model D in 1916, so the ones
shown may have been under conversion to the later standard.
